Butch Hancock performs at BayouConcerts on July 2nd, 2011
You Coulda Walked Around the World
If You Were a Bluebird
World traveling troubadour Butch Hancock hails from the Lubbock, Texas, music scene that also gave the world Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, his equally eclectic colleagues in the Flatlanders. He’s one of contemporary music’s most entertaining raconteurs and his tunes evoke mystical visions of wind-swept dry-plains and his lyrics are profoundly imaginative, often displaying for his listeners the miracles that occur in the ordinary through creative irony and metaphors.
